Shakespeare Santa Cruz is ending one of their best seasons ever (some think the best!) next Sunday, August 30.
SSC is not offering a Holiday Show for your students and families this year but has two plays this summer that have the same kind of magic, fun and inspiration.
Shipwrecked! An Entertainment. The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (As Told by Himself) stirs the imagination with an adventure story that is human, fun and makes audiences young and old think about adventure, fame, and the purpose of life.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespeare’s perennial favorite is given a new staging by SSC that has garnered glowing reviews from critics (the SF Chronicle gave it their highest rating and words like “dreamy,” “spectacular,” and “the magic of laughter” are being used) and people are saying that this was the best Midsummer they have ever seen.
The reviews are great from critics and especially from audiences. The prices are right (Youth, under 18, tickets are $13 and adult tickets start at $18 for Shipwrecked and $20 for Glen Rush tickets available for any performance of Midsummer). And the opportunity is this week only.
Performances Remaining
Shipwrecked! Has four performances left this week all in the evening (still fine for most kids, because it is a bit over ninety minutes with no intermission so it will be finished by about 9:15 on Wednesday and Sunday and 9:45 on the non-school nights of Friday and Saturday.)
--Wednesday (8/26) at 7:30 pm
--Friday (8/28) at 8:00 pm
--Saturday (8/29) at 8:00 pm
--Sunday (8/30) at 7:30 pm
It plays in the UCSC Theater Arts Mainstage where Youth tickets (under 18) are $13 and adult tickets start at $15 and $18. All seats are reserved
